About MJ
Meagan Johnson is a filmmaker and comedian based in Savannah, GA.
She made her directorial debut in February 2023 with a comedy short entitled "Bottom Shelf Wine Connossoirs." Since then, she has worked on 8 independent film sets, focusing her efforts on acting and production design.
She just recently wrapped principal photography on “The Heirloom” - A short film she wrote, directed, and executive produced.
MJ also spent the last 4 years working for The Front Porch Improv Theater, where she split her time between performing, bartending, and running the tech booth. Through their youth outreach program, Front Porch ACTS, MJ was trained as a trauma-informed instructor through their evidence-based curriculum. She used these skills to work with underserved youth on emotional regulation, team-building, and impulse control.
She also plays Danny Moron on the Savannah for Morons comedy tour, and has accumulated over 3,000 hours of live performing experience over the last 3 years.
She loves art in all its forms, and spends her free time painting, throwing pottery, sewing, and even designing this website, which means she's writing all of this in the third person like a serial killer. She can assure you she has absolutely not killed anyone ever.
